Giant Spanish Slugs invade UK

Giant Spanish Slugs invade UK

Giant Slugs that have been imported from Spain during the summer months are threatening to wipe out our local species. The olive green Slug is mating with native Slugs to reproduce powerful breeds that will potentially over run the UK.

Spanish Slugs

The Slugs in question can grow upto 15cm long, move around 5 metres a night and can detect food from about 60 centrimetres away. The slimy animals have been attacking our flower beds, destroying beans, lettuces, wheat and other produce. This invasion is causing much concern for farmers as crops maybe wiped out and may never grow back again.
