New flood protection for homes in North Yorkshire

Properties at risk of flooding in parts of North Yorkshire have been provided with new Flood Protection. Waterproof boards have been fitted to the doorways of 44 homes in Kirby Mills and Kirkbymoorside, which last suffered from flash flooding in 2010.

Additional changes made include non-return valves for drainage pipes, new concrete floors and repointing work. The £127,000 scheme has been funded by Ryedale District Council and the Environment Agency.
