A Retaining Wall is a structure designed and constructed to resist the lateral pressure of soil when there is a change in ground level. Principle pressures acting on a Retaining Wall come from the retained soil and from loading by ground and surface water where this water is not adequately drained.

A Retaining Wall may be independent of a building or structure, or it may form part of the general accommodation such as within a Basement or Cellar. Where buildings are constructed on a sloping site, changes in ground levels internally or externally may be dealt with by the construction of a Retaining Wall.

Systems employed for Ground Anchors are selected subject to an assessment of a number of important factors. These factors include loading, existing construction, ground conditions, practical restrictions such as access, durability, finish and cost.

When it is preferable not to have a termination at a pattress plate, we have access to a range of Ground Anchors that are able to sit fully within the body of the wall itself (subject to the suitability of the substrate). In sensitive historic structures the use of our own specialist teams and diamond drilling equipment enable accurate, non vibratory voids to be formed accommodating bespoke fully grouted Ground Anchors.
