Parapet Stabilisation

Parapet Wall Repair Specialists

Brick and Stone Parapet Walls can deteriorate over time due to various affects of ageing.

Such may include deterioration due to water ingress, frost damage, vibration, chemical attack and direct impact or any combination thereof. Embedded steel, wind loading and suction loading due to passing traffic may also play a role in deterioration.

Parapet walls are invariably situated at high level on buildings and structures and therefore any failure could prove extremely dangerous should debris fall into adjacent areas.

Repairs carried out using dense rigid materials such as sand and cement render, pointing or bolting on steel will usually only provide short term benefits. Thermal movement and moisture penetration are likely to result in further cracking and deterioration of the structure.

Protectahome have a portfolio of Masonry Repair Systems that we can deploy when strengthening or repairing Parapet Walls. These include a post tensioned anchor system, highly effective for Parapet Walls of bridges.

The majority of Parapet Wall strengthening systems we use are installed within the body of the structure itself, using diamond drilling and cutting equipment. This ensures that the least amount of stress and vibration are deployed during the installation process. Where buildings or structures are of a historic nature, there are obvious added advantages in ensuring that there is minimal visual impact when the strengthening system is complete.

The Anchoring and Reinforcement systems selected by Protectahome have been identified as representing some of the best systems currently available. Masonry Repair products used by us are manufactured to the highest standards and installed with great skill and care by our own directly employed technicians.

Protectahome have a comprehensive range of Masonry Repair strategies available which may include the formation of Masonry Beams, Consolidation, Anchoring, Crack Stitching, Pinning and Traditional Repairs. We also offer a comprehensive building service enabling our clients to have a single source of supply as principle contractor.
